about

I saw Clare Bradford perform with the NEC Symphony Orchestra a couple of years ago in Jordan Hall.  She played principle cello and had several solo features in the program.  I was so impressed with her performance that I hired her to participate in several recordings of my music.  She played cello in the studio recordings of my string quartet “Sodium,” the “Octet in D” and the Lewis Carroll song cycle “Alice.”

She is now (2016) a senior at NEC, and I decided that as a parting gift I would write a cello and piano duet for her.  And here it is, “Concerto Barocco” ...

Concerto Barocco like the Bach dance suites is in six movements.

1. Allemande … Moderato
2. Courante … Moderato
3. Sarabande … Adagio
4. Gavotte … Moderato
5. Air … Adagio
6. Gigue … Allegro

Enjoy!!!
