Colline de sucre Une œuvre de Franz Liszt tout en retenue, plus la retenue naturelle de Thomas Oboe Lee : naît une tendre audace, une chantante complicité.

about

I saw a performance of Franz Liszt’s Via Crucis 1878-79 for solo piano by Reinbert de Leeuw on YouTube and it made such a huge impression that I decided I want to make my own version of it.

My Via Crucis like the Franz Liszt is in fifteen movements.

Oratio praeparatoria
I Statio Ubi Christus morti adiudicatur
II Statio Ubi Christo Crux imponitur
III Statio Ubi primum Christus sub Cruce cecidit
IV Statio Ubi Beata Virgo cum Sancto Ioanne obviat Christo
V Statio Ubi Simoni Cyrenaeo Crux imponitur
VI Statio Ubi Veronica Christo obviat
VII Statio Ubi Christus sub iudiciaria porta cecidit
VIII Statio Ubi mulieres Christum deplorant
IX Statio Ubi ultimo cecidit ad Montem Calvariae
X Statio Ubi felle et aceto potatur
XI Statio Ubi Cruci horrendis clavis affigitur
XII Statio Ubi in Cruce moritur
XIII Statio Ubi Iesu corpus e cruce super afflictae matris genua deponitur
XIV Statio Ubi Iesu corpus sepelitur

This work is dedicated to Reinbert de Leeuw (1938-2020).
